Kojima Productions has confirmed that Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will launch on June 26, 2025, exclusively for PS5. The announcement was made at SXSW 2025, where Hideo Kojima, along with special guests, unveiled a new pre-order trailer. Pre-orders for the game officially open on March 17, 2025.

Death Stranding: Stranding Harmony Concert Tour

To celebrate the game’s release, Kojima Productions has announced the Stranding Harmony Concert Tour, featuring a full orchestra performing music from the Death Stranding series. The tour kicks off on November 8, 2025, at the Sydney Opera House in Australia, followed by performances in major cities worldwide.

The sequel continues Sam Bridges’ journey in a post-apocalyptic world filled with supernatural threats. Norman Reedus reprises his role as Sam, alongside Léa Seydoux (Fragile), Troy Baker, and Elle Fanning.

Death Stranding 2 Cast and Story

A new synopsis teases a mission beyond the UCA to prevent humanity’s extinction:

“Sam—with companions by his side—sets out on a journey to save mankind. As they navigate treacherous landscapes and otherworldly threats, one question looms: should we have connected?”

Legacy of Death Stranding

The original Death Stranding debuted on PS4 in 2019, followed by a PC release in 2020. A Director’s Cut later arrived on PS5 and PC, with an Xbox version launching unexpectedly last year. According to Kojima Productions, over 16 million players have experienced Death Stranding across all platforms, including PlayStation Plus and PC Game Pass.
