Corsair Gaming has suggested that Grand Theft Auto 6 will launch on PC in early 2026, following its console debut later this year. Rockstar Games’ parent company, Take-Two, has not officially confirmed a PC release, but hints from executives suggest that it is likely.
Corsair’s Statement on GTA 6 PC Release
During Corsair Gaming’s latest financial report, finance VP Ronald van Veen commented on the highly anticipated title:
“Yeah, GTA 6 is probably the one everyone is talking about. And we’ll get a glimpse of that, I think, later on in the year for console. My understanding now it’s going to come out in the fall for console, and then early 2026 for PC.”
Historically, Rockstar has followed a staggered release strategy, launching Grand Theft Auto games on consoles first before bringing them to PC. This was the case with GTA 5, which released on PC nearly 18 months after its console launch.
Take-Two Acknowledges PC’s Growing Importance
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick recently spoke about PC gaming’s increasing significance, stating that while some titles release simultaneously across all platforms, Rockstar tends to launch on consoles first before expanding to other platforms.
“We have seen PC become a much more and more important part of what used to be a console business, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see that trend continue,” Zelnick said.
GTA 6 Poised for a Record-Breaking Launch
According to research firm DFC Intelligence, Grand Theft Auto 6 could generate over $1 billion in pre-orders alone, making it the biggest entertainment launch of 2025.
With an official PC announcement still pending, all signs suggest Rockstar will follow its traditional rollout strategy, with GTA 6 arriving first on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S before heading to PC in early 2026.
