Microsoft has officially launched a new special edition Xbox controller, the Pulse Cipher, following a recent leak that confirmed its name.

Transparent Red Design and Features

The Pulse Cipher controller boasts a transparent red design, offering a glimpse of its internal components. It includes rubberised red grips and metallic red D-pad and triggers, combining style with functionality.

It’s priced at $74.99 / £64.99. Pre-orders for the controller starts from today with launch taking place on February 4th, 2025.

Part of the Xbox Cipher Series

This marks the third entry in Xbox’s Cipher series of wireless controller designs:

• Sky Cipher: Released last year with a transparent blue shell.
• Ghost Cipher: Followed later with a transparent grey shell.

Earlier today, Microsoft unveiled the next batch of titles for Game Pass across console, PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming. Notable additions for late January include Sniper Elite: Resistance and Eternal Strands, both launching as day-one releases.

Fans can also look forward to the next Xbox Developer Direct live stream, scheduled for January 23th at 10am Pacific / 1pm Eastern / 6pm UK. The event will feature four games, including a rumored entry in an iconic Japanese game series.
