Sony may have unintentionally confirmed the existence of a PlayStation 5 Pro console through an illustration featured in its 30th-anniversary logo. The illustration appears to showcase a console with a design different from the standard PS5, particularly with three black stripes across its middle—a detail previously leaked by a known source, Dealabs user billbil-kun. This user has a strong track record for leaking accurate information about upcoming hardware and games.
Billbil-kun recently claimed that the PS5 Pro will be announced soon, with an official reveal expected in the first half of September. While they couldn’t share the actual packaging design due to copyright concerns, they created a sketch showing a slightly thicker PS5 Pro with the notable addition of the black stripes, which sets it apart from current PS5 models. This sketch closely resembles the mysterious console seen in the 30th-anniversary logo.
One of the biggest unknowns about the PS5 Pro is whether it will feature a disc drive. According to billbil-kun, the design they viewed didn’t include one, raising speculation that Sony could release the Pro as a digital-only console or offer a detachable disc drive similar to the PS5 Slim. It’s possible the PS5 Pro may come without a disc drive to keep costs down, with buyers given the option to purchase the drive separately.
All signs point to a PlayStation 5 Pro announcement soon, with the design leak potentially giving fans an early look at the upgraded console.
