MachineGames and Xbox have officially announced that “Indiana Jones and The Great Circle” will be available on PlayStation 5, following its initial release on Xbox and PC. The game is set to launch on Xbox and PC on December 9, 2024, and will be available on Microsoft’s Game Pass subscription service from day one. The PlayStation 5 version is scheduled to follow in Spring 2025.

In a video shown during Gamescom 2024, Jerk Gustafsson, the game director, expressed his excitement about bringing the game to a wider audience. “We want everybody to be able to enjoy this adventure,” said Gustafsson. “That is why we are delighted to bring ‘Indiana Jones and The Great Circle’ to PlayStation 5 players next Spring 2025.”

MachineGames, the Swedish studio renowned for the modern Wolfenstein titles, also revealed new gameplay footage at Gamescom. The game stars Troy Baker as the voice of Indiana Jones, utilizing Harrison Ford’s likeness for the character. Initially announced in January 2021, “Indiana Jones and The Great Circle” was originally planned as a multiplatform release but was later announced as an Xbox and PC exclusive.

This change in strategy aligns with Microsoft’s broader plans to bring more titles to PlayStation and Nintendo Switch, as seen with recent releases like “Pentiment,” “Hi-Fi Rush,” and “Sea of Thieves.” The terms of the game’s development were renegotiated after Microsoft acquired Bethesda’s parent company, ZeniMax Media, for $7.5 billion in 2021.
